ADCLAY and growth among pigs.

ADCLAY and growth in pigs

In intensive pig farming, feed efficiency and profitability are two key terms. Feeding represents the most important fraction of production costs (between 65 and 75%). Consequently, good nutrition management is the basis for successful profitability. The regimes must be balanced, with no deficit or excess of the necessary nutrients.

In intensive rearing in general, and in pig rearing for fattening in particular, good feed management can improve and increase the growth and efficiency of the production process. Thus, in order to improve feed quality, the use of natural additives in pig feed has been of significant interest over the last few decades because of their positive effects on animal health, human health and the environment.

Technological additives are defined as any substance added to feed with the purpose of improving its appearance, texture, etc. However, in addition to these effects, these additives may contribute to the improvement of animal performance.

MYTA's sepiolytic argil is a 100% natural technological additive approved E 563 and marketed under the ADCLAY brand name. for animal feed. Furthermore, it has been observed that, in addition to its technological effect, this additive has several positive effects on other parameters, including improved animal growth. In fact, in a study carried out by MYTA evaluating the effect of the inclusion of sepiolithic aril in feed on the parameters of the engraisment and the characteristics of the pig carcass, il a été observé que l'inclusion de l'argile sépiolitique à 2% et 4% dans l'alimentation de ces animaux a un effet positif significatif sur le gain moyen quotidien des porcs. This means that the pigs fed with feed containing E 653 had a better growth rate than the pigs in the control sample. In addition, the feed conversion rate was significantly lower with the 2% treatment of the E 563 sepiolytic clay, which is more cost-effective in economic terms. In addition to these positive effects on growth, this additive has no counter-indications for the animal as it is an inert and insoluble product.
